
Lauren Sargent
Elementary Assistant Principal (PreK-Grade 5)
Ms. Lauren brings 15 years of experience in education, with the past 3 years dedicated to serving the GAA community. She began her career in Kindergarten within the University of Georgia system before moving abroad to teach internationally in Korea and the UAE, in both Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
Holding a Master’s in International Teaching, along with an IB Advanced Teaching and Learning Certificate, Ms. Lauren transitioned from classroom teaching to coaching and leadership. During her tenure, she successfully expanded a Kindergarten program from 3 to 12 classes within 5 years. She is highly trained in the IB Early Years, HighScope methodology, and the American Common Core Standards.
As Vice Principal of PreK-G5, Ms. Lauren is passionate about play-based learning for our youngest learners and ensuring best practices up through elementary students, which foster high engagement and achievement both inside and outside the classroom. She remains deeply connected to the GCC culture and traditions, integrating them into both school life and her own.
Ms. Lauren lives in Abu Dhabi with her husband and young daughter, Jameela, and she is committed to nurturing a joyful, inclusive, and academically rigorous learning environment for all students at GAA.
