Gwyn Underwood
High School Principal (Grades 9-12)
Dr. Underwood brings over 30 years of experience working at schools in New Zealand, Japan, Belgium, China, and the Philippines, where he has just completed nine years as Superintendent of Cebu International School.
He earned his Doctor of Education degree from the University of New England, where his research focused on the benefits, promotion, and implementation of the MYP within a framework of “effective schools” and “best practices.”
He has extensive experience with a wide range of school systems and accrediting agencies, and has served as an IB Workshop Leader, School Visit Team Member, and in other support capacities since 2003.
He is excited to join the GAA community with his wife, Aimee, and two children, Elise and Kiean.
