Abbas Abdulsamad

High School Assistant Principal (Grades 9-10)

Abbas Abdulsamad is an accomplished educational leader with over two decades of experience in education across the Gulf region. Since beginning his educational career in 2002, he has dedicated himself to advancing teaching and learning through instructional excellence, strategic leadership, and continuous school improvement.

Abbas began his career as an English Literature Teacher in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In 2007, he relocated to the United Arab Emirates, where he taught Advanced Placement (AP) English Literature before serving as an AP Coordinator, SAT Coordinator, and MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) Coordinator, leading assessment implementation, analyzing student performance data, and supporting educators in using assessment evidence to improve learning outcomes.

In 2012, Abbas developed the innovative "Go Pro Classroom" initiative, promoting technology-enhanced teaching and learning. The initiative was approved by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Smart Majlis and was subsequently selected for presentation at KHDA's “What Works” event, where innovative and effective educational practices are shared across Dubai's private school sector.

In 2017, he transitioned into senior leadership, serving as Deputy Director in Sharjah, Vice Principal in Dubai, and most recently Vice Principal in Abu Dhabi. Throughout his leadership career, he has led academic excellence initiatives, curriculum development, school improvement, accreditation and inspection readiness, staff professional development, and data-driven decision-making.

He holds a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Management from Middlesex University London and is a Certified School Inspector accredited by Tribal, reflecting his expertise in evaluating educational quality, school effectiveness, and continuous improvement against international standards.

Throughout his career, Abbas has built a reputation for collaborative leadership, instructional excellence, and data-informed school improvement. His expertise includes curriculum development, educational assessment, professional learning, and strategic planning.
