Innovation

At GEMS American Academy we pride ourselves on providing unique and distinguished opportunities for our students. In an effort to help our learners continuously think outside of the box and develop empathy for mankind, we have implemented a K-12 Makerspace. Students in the KG and Elementary programs have the opportunity to visit the Makerspace weekly and inquire about various concepts that will help improve our world.

Secondary students have the opportunity to visit our Makerspace as it aligns with their units of study. In our KG Makerspace you will find KG1 students and KG2 students learning coding skills and the design process. Students get the exciting opportunity to create robots and explore the scientific method through their PYP units of inquiry. Our GAA Makerspace is designed for students to utilize in order to solve complex problems that are aligned with their units of inquiry. Students from KG 1 through Grade 12 also get the exciting opportunity to participate in monthly maker challenges that stretch their creativity and innovation limits.
