After School Activities - Participation in after school activities is important alongside our academic curriculumThrough participation in these events, students enrich their school days. In addition to physical development and the exploration of interests, students learn the thrill of challenge, teamwork, sportsmanship, competition, concentration and accomplishment.
GEMS American Academy – Abu Dhabi provides a rich extra-curricular program that supports student’s total development, providing opportunities for students to develop talents and explore new interests. Activities include both individual pursuits and team building activities for students from Kindergarten1 onwards that are developmentally appropriate. Students may choose from a wide variety of activities that can include Art Club, Computer Club, Basketball, Drawing, Dance Spanish, Tennis and Gardening. Click the link below for our offerings.
Student Council Leadership - With a group of students ready for the challenge, the GAA Student Council introduces concepts of responsibility, representation and accountability at an age-appropriate level. Student representatives volunteer for service on a term-by-term basis and is steered by a dedicated group of educator including the Guidance Counselor. This group meets weekly to discuss ways in which the student body can support school initiatives such as fundraising or other special events or other issues raised by the students themselves. Once suggestions or solutions are agreed upon, the Student Council often meets to present their ideas to the Principal to turn ideas into action. GAA’s Student Council is an important part of the school that will grow as we do.
